Review | Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder
This is what it says on the Bobbi Brown Website:
A long-lasting powder that sets and perfects foundation for a smooth, flawless finish. This sheer powder is 100% oil-free and oil-absorbing, with vitamin E for the most comfortable wear.
Ideal for women with oily skin, or women who prefer a lighter powder.
The unique yellow base complements all skin tones to create a natural-looking tone.
For a natural look, apply over foundation using a Powder Brush. For a more polished look, apply powder with our Powder Puff (sold separately), using a gentle pressing motion. Dust off excess with a brush.
So, like I’ve said before, I do prefer lighter makeup in the summer months rather than the full coverage, heavy makeup I tend to reach for more in the fall/winter.
So because of that, and because it claims to be ideal for oily skin, I thought I’d give it a go, but this did leave me quite disappointed.
Now, I will say that the only reason it disappointed me is because it doesn’t control my oils at all, and I think it should do that because of it’s claims, but other than that I don’t think it’s a bad powder, however, I do think that it’s better for people with normal to dry skintypes.
Other than that I do think that this powder does a good job of setting my makeup without looking cakey or powdery, and I do like that it doesn’t provide too much coverage/color to the skin, so you don’t have to be too carefull when choosing your shade.
And it does feel very lightweight on the skin, so I do like it for those reasons.
But when it all comes down to it, I don’t think I can recommend this, just because I don’t think it holds up to it’s claims, and I don’t think it’s worth it for the price, because you can find other powders like this at the drugstore that I’m sure will do the exact same thing.
However, if you are a Bobbi Brown fan, and you do have normal-dry skin, I do think this will work nicely for you.
I got mine at Kicks for 335nok and it’s available in 10 shades.
