So, Smashbox just came out with a new concealer and since I’m always on the hunt for my perfect concealer, I thought I’d give this a try, and I do like it, but I don’t think that it’s “The One”.
Now, when it comes to concealers I’m usually very picky, and most of the time they don’t really cover my dark circles (which is what I tend to use concealer for, and I do use a corrector underneath), and to be completely honest, this doesn’t cover them either, but it does cover them a little bit better than other concealers I’ve tried, like the Urban Decay Naked Skin and the MAC Pro Longwear concealers (even though that might be because the shade suits me a bit better than those).
So if you’re a fan of those concealers, and you are looking for something new to try, this might work for you.
Now, when it comes to lasting power, I do find that this stays on all day long, and I haven’t noticed any creasing or fading, but I have heard that some people did have to touch it up throughout the day, so that is something to take notice of before purchasing this.
But, like I said, I haven’t had any of those issues, so I guess it could depend on how oily your skin is underneath your eyes, or it might be an issue if you’re using an eye-cream that is a little too heavy for day time, but, either way, I wouldn’t really worry too too much about that, since most of us set our concealer with powder anyway.
Now, as far as consistency goes, I find that this concealer is a bit thinner than I’m used to from this type of a concealer, but I personally don’t mind that, because, since it is a little bit thinner, it doesn’t look heavy and cakey, and you can easily build it up if you want more coverage out of this, and it is easy to blend out too, so to me that is actually a good thing.
So, overall I would recommend this if you’ve had trouble finding a shade that works for you, or if you want a concealer that is a little bit thinner/a little less heavy looking on your skin.
I got mine from kicks for 220nok, and it’s available in 10 shades.
