Favorites | Top 5 September 2016
This month I’ve been trying out a lot of new (to me) products, so it was a bit difficult to narrow it down to my top 5, but these are the products I’ve been reaching for the most throughout the month. And as always, I will link to full reviews at the end of post if I’ve done one previously.
I’ve just now gotten my hands on the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder, and I haven’t been able to put it down.
Now, I don’t use it for baking, mostly because I just don’t like to have that much powder underneath my eyes, but I do use it to set my undereyes, and my entire face, and it’s been working great for that if I don’t use alot, because I have noticed that it will look dry on my skin if I don’t use it lightly, but it is a very beautiful powder and a little goes a long way so it will last you a long long time.
My second favorite this month have been the Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer.
Now, I did try this once it came out, and I didn’t really like it at all, because it made my foundation look very cakey and patchy on top of if, but I got an other sample of it recently, and this time around it does everything I want it to do (so I figure I got a bad sample the first time)
Now it fills in my pores beautifully, it doesn’t make my foundation go on patchy and it does help to control my oils throughout the day, so I might just buy the full size once I run out.
Also from Smashbox, I’ve been really enjoing the new studio skin concealer.
This is just so easy to work with, it doesn’t feel very heavy and it does provide a good amount of coverage, and it does last all day without fading or creasing.
Now, some days I do mix it with my Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer because it is a bit lighter than my Smashbox one, but most days I’ve been wearing it alone.
For my cheeks this month I’ve been mixing the Make Up Geek blush in the shade “Smitten” with the MAC powder blush in the shade “Fun Ending” and together they give me the perfect peachy-pink flush, and they just make me look a bit more healthy.
Also, they stay on for a decent amount of time, and they don’t look powdery or patchy, so I’ve really been loving the mix of these two.
My last favorite this month is the Loreal Volume Million Lashes mascara.
This mascara is actually an old favorite of mine, and I do really love the volume it gives my lashes, and it also makes them look a little bit thicker without getting clumpy or messy.
Now, I don’t find that it gives me a lot of extra lenght, so I don’t know how it would work if you have very short lashes, but if you have longer lashes I think this will work beautifully for you.
And the best part is that it doesn’t flake, and, at least on me, it doesn’t smudge.
