Review | Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation
This is what it says on the Bobbi Brown website:
Finally—a natural-looking and long-wearing foundation with SPF. Comfortable and hydrating, this medium to full coverage oil-free formula never looks cakey or masky.
Glycerin and shea butter keep skin feeling moisturized while a gel base creates a lightweight finish that stays color-true. Lasts for up to 12 hours even in the most humid conditions. Protects skin from future damage thanks to broad spectrum SPF 15 with antioxidant vitamins C and E.
For normal to oily skin types.
So, I’ve been testing out this foundation for the last couple of months, and so far I’m very impressed with it.
This foundation blends into the skin so nicely, and it is very easy to work with, even though it is a thicker foundation, which I can appreciate.
And it does have a very beautiful, natural finish to it, and I quite like that, especially in the colder months.
Now, when it comes to coverage I find that this is very easy to costumize, depending on how much foundation you use, so if I want a sheer application I’ll use 1-2 pumps, but if I want more coverage I’ll use a bit more. And it is easily buildable without looking cakey, or heavy.
With that said, I wouldn’t say that a little goes a long way with this, especially if you want alot of coverage, and since it is such an expencive foundation that is something to keep in mind, but I do still think that this is one foundation that is worth it either way.
When it comes to lastingpower I find that it does stay on for around 7-9hours before it starts to fade, but it does fade very evenly so it’s not too noticable.
And it does also get ‘glowy/dewy’ look throughout the day, but it doesn’t look oily or greasy, at least not on my skin, and since foundations usually starts to look a bit oily on me after about 4hours, I am very pleasantly surprised by that.
The only couple of things that I don’t like about this is the fact that this doesn’t really dry down, so you do need to set it with powder, because this will transfer if you don’t.
And it does also have a very strong scent of lavender to it, so if you don’t like that, or don’t want to use a heavily fragranced foundation, I don’t think that you’ll like this one.
But if you can look past that I do think that this would work beautifully for you, and I do recommend it if you want a natural finish foundation, but if you’re on a budget I wouldn’t say that you need this because I do think that you could find similar foundations in the drugstore.
I got mine from Kicks for 420nok.
