Review | NYX Lip Lingerie
This is what it says on the NYX website:
Slip into something seductive with Lip Lingerie, our new weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish. Available in a range of color-kissed nudes—from cinnamon pink and chocolate brown, to warm mahogany red and classic nude beige—each sultry shade will coat the curves of your lips with irresistibly creamy color.
So, I’ve never really gotten into the whole matte-lip trend untill now, mostly because I just can’t stand the feeling of dry lips, but I do love the way matte lips look, so I figured I’d try these out and see if they would work for me or not.
Now, out of the 4 shades I got, there’s only one that I feel is very different from the others and that is “Satin Ribbon”.
This shade is quite hard to apply, it goes on super streaky and it’s not as pigmented as the other ones. Plus the shade is too light for me, so I can’t wear it without looking very sick.
I might be able to put in the center of my lips for a bit of highlight, but overall I just don’t like that one at all.
Now, when it comes to the other shades I do find that they’re alot easier to work with, but you do have to apply 2 layers before you get them to their full opacity, or you could use a lipliner underneath if you’d rather do that, but as far as the layering goes I haven’t had any issues.
When it comes to the lasting power on these I do find that they stay on for around 4 hours before they start to fade, but they are quite easy to re-apply.
However, I do find that they can get a bit crumbly when they start to fade after that, and I also find that these start to transfer a tiny little bit as well when they start to wear off, so that’s something to keep in mind.
I also have to mention that, even though they drown completly, they do stay quite sticky, but you won’t really notice that unless you rub your lips together.
Other than that I don’t think that these are too bad at all.
They are of course a bit drying on the lips since they do dry down to a matte finish, but they aren’t as bad as I thought they would be, so I do think that these are worth it for the price.
I got mine from Kicks for 89 nok.
