Review | NEW Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer
This is what it says on the Maybelline website:
Color Sensational® Vivid Hot Lacquer. High-impact lip gloss with an ultra-shiny finish.
Maybelline’s high-impact gloss goes vivid! Strong lacquered shine and opaque color melt onto the lips for your most impactful lip look.
Step 1. Apply lip lacquer with the applicator wand in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth.
Step 2. Glide the lip lacquer across the entire bottom lip.
So, Maybelline just came out with these lip lacquers, and I always love a good gloss, so I had to get a few of these to try.
Now, the first thing I noticed is that these are very thick and quite sticky, so if you don’t like sticky lipgloss these will not be for you at all.
But if you don’t mind I think that these are great glosses, and they did last surprisingly long, especially the darker/brighter shades. And I didn’t have to touch up before after 5-6hours or so, depending on how dark/bright the shade is, so that’s a good thing.
They do also apply very evenly, except for the shade ‘Obsessed’, that shade did require a little bit more work to look even, but if you just go over it a few times, it will look just as good as the other ones, so I’m not really that bothered by it.
Now, when it comes to the pigmentation on these I find that they’re all very pigmented and the darker shades does leave a very strong stain when the gloss fades, so you don’t really have to think about them too much, which I can appreciate.
And the lighter shades fades very evenly, so it’s not such a big deal when they start to wear down either, so I do think that these are something that a lot of people can enjoy, as long as you don’t mind that they are a little bit ‘heavy’ in consictency, but they don’t slide around on the lips, and they don’t bleed or emphasize any dry patches or liplines, so I do really like these.
So, overall I do think that these are worth it if you’re looking for a good, inexpencive gloss that will last on your lips without too much fuzz.
And as long as you don’t mind a little heavier/more sticky formula, I do highly recommend checking these out.
I got mine from Douglas for 77nok a piece.
